What Is The Savoy Lumière?

Now in its second year, The Savoy Lumière is a new film festival from The Chambana Film Society, who also bring you The CineSonic Music Film Festival, and The Savoy Arthouse, a weekly screening series. Specializing in current independent, documentary, foreign and short films.

What’s a Lumière?

Lumière is the French word for light (which is necessary for film projection), and also the names of two of the most important people in the history of film, The Lumière Brothers. Don’t miss this year’s documentary about the brothers, Lumière! Le Cinema!

Where and when is The Savoy Lumière held?

The main festival week runs from Wednesday, April 29th to Tuesday, May 5. There are three additional screenings before the festival (April 7, 10, and 24), and three additional screenings on the three Fridays after the festival week, May 8, 15, and 22. All screenings take place at The Phoenix Savoy 16 + IMAX (232 Burwash Ave. Savoy, IL 61874).

What films are playing, and when?

For our second year, we haver 23 screenings, showcasing 15 feature films and 65 short films, packaged in 8 screenings. You can see the films playing in our Film Guide, or via the Film Schedule.

How much are tickets, and how do I purchase them?

Individual screening tickets are available for $12 each.

For access to all 23 screenings (a $258 value), you can purchase a full festival badge for $160, or less than $7 per screening. These badges are completely sharable. If you can’t make a screening, feel free to loan your badge to a friend.

Additionally, we offer a 10-pack of tickets for $100. Simply put 10 tickets in your cart, and a discount will be automatically applied. (There’s actually a secret hack here, if you put any extra tickets in your cart above 10, it will apply the discount to each additional ticket.

You can buy tickets and badges in advance at our Square Site, or at the individual film pages.

We also take cash or charge at the venue, but beware of the Rush Line.
